Dad often wore his cardy....whatever the weather. On a holiday to the Isle of Wight, silly me was wearing a little summer top and it was freezing! We were on the little seafront train, so Dad offered me his cardigan to wear. I was lovely and warm but poor Dad was freezing - but did he complain....no! Since then though, he has often offered the use of his cardy in a jokey way.

We were in Tenerife one year and went to visit the parrot park at the other side of the island. When we set off in the morning the weather was gorgeous, Dad was only wearing his shorts and a short sleeved shirt, and we climbed through the mountains on our journey through the clouds and the rain until we arrived at the parrot park where it was freezing.....no cardy this time, so he had to buy a lovely parrot sweatshirt to wear for the day to keep him warm. He kept trying to offload his purchase when we got home onto Gary who politely declined - I think Mum still has his parrot sweatshirt.
